Blakeney Quay car park sometimes floods on high tides
One word of advice for the un-seasoned visitors parking on the quay. Check the high tide times before you order the drinks !
The Moorings Blakeney
The Moorings is situated at the bottom of Blakeney High Street just above the quay. In the evenings The Moorings is a wonderful restaurant & by day a family friendly cafe serving lighter lunches. It 'offers unpretentious contemporary cuisine in a relaxed setting'.
The Moorings does light lunches & has a children menu
At lunch time they have a very good lunch menu, including a very reasonably priced children's menu. They are open for coffee and cakes if you are just peckish.
Our favourite dishes:
The chowder is always excellent as are the cakes & puddings.

Wonderful Sunday lunches served at The Moorings
On a Sunday there is a superb 3 course Sunday lunch with all the trimmings for which booking is advisable as it is very popular and well worth the effort. Angela's puddings are truly scrummy. Having 3 children myself we are frequent visitors to The Moorings and it has to be one of our favourite places to eat in North Norfolk. The children would eat there every day if they could !

We love the fish and chips at The White Horse
Very popular so booking advisable in high season. Another favourite with our children as they love the beer battered haddock and chips and the J2Os. I recently had their fish & chips for the first time & in fact I have to say it was without doubt the best fish and chips I have ever eaten & that's saying something. Now I know why the kids love it so much and I am an addict to.

The Blakeney Hotel & Restaurant
Superbly located right on the Quay in Blakeney with views over the estuary. Very nice for a grown up lunch or dinner. You can linger and enjoy the views over a glass of bubbly.
I would also recommend taking a light lunch or afternoon tea in the observation lounge . It offers a very civilised vantage point, with lovely views of the marshes and the estuary. A lovely way to while away a couple of hours with the newspapers.

Large beer garden in summer if you want to sit outside , as well as large family dining room and lots of space in the cosy bars inside. A very child & dog friendly pub. Our kids adore eating here and well behaved dogs can come too. If you have small appetites you may need to share as main meal portions very generous or take a doggy bag.

The Blakeney Deli
You don't even need to cook as scrumptious take away food is available from the wonderful deli on Blakeney High Street just a 1 minute stroll from Gardener's Cottage and the quay at Blakeney.
We can particularly recommend the sausage rolls which are fantastic and take away coleslaw & salads. They also have an excellent selction of wines & soft drinks & my husband raves about the orange syrup cake. They also have a very good range of local artisan cheeses & breads.
