No trip to Blakeney is complete, without a visit to the Blakeney delicatessen. It is a short stroll from Gardeners Cottage, and is well worth having a browse. They have lots of lovely food and wine to tempt your palette, many of it sourced from local Norfolk producers. It was awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2016 & 2015.
The Blakeney deli is a small very well stocked deli about half way up the High street in the centre of Blakeney North Norfolk and just a 1 minute stroll from Gardeners Cottage. The staff led by owner Nick Howard are very friendly and helpful and there is always something delicious available.
Local Norfolk produce
The Blakeney deli has a lovely selection of locally sourced fruit & vegetables, local produce as well as carefully sourced deli foods from around the world and a wonderful selection of wines. They also stock all the basics like milk and butter.
Takeaway food and drinks
They also offer takeaway coffees and lots more. Our personal favourites are the sausage rolls, the pain au chocolat, the filter coffees, the coleslaw, the homemade savoury tarts, the Waldorf salad, the pink lemonade and the wines. I could go on and on.
On site kitchen
The hub of the shop is the on-site kitchen in which hand-made foods are prepared on a daily basis. Customers can collect tarts, breads and pastries still warm from the oven, home-made pates, soups and a range of delicious original dishes. Menus change regularly and follow the seasons.
