Wiveton Hall fruit farm & cafe
As made famous in the series Normal for Norfolk which is filmed there. This lovely cafe looks out across the marshes to the sea and is one of our favourite places to go on a hot sunny day for afternoon tea. It is about a 15 minute walk from Gardeners Cottage or 5 minutes by car on the road between Blakeney and Cley. Teas and cakes served between 3.00pm – 4.30pm. Biddy’s tearoom in Aylsham
About a 35 minute drive from Blakeney and just down the road from the magnificent National Trust property and estate Blickling Hall. Good to combine the two.
If you are willing to get in the car the pretty market town of Aylsham is about a 30 minute drive from Blakeney and is home to the wonderful Biddy’s vintage tearoom. The cakes and scones are amazing ( and huge) and some of the best we have tasted in North Norfolk. The tea menu is extensive (over 50 to choose from) and loose leaf and all served in gorgeous vintage china teacups with enamel teapots. We just love this tearoom as you can probably tell. You can go for the full afternoon tea or a simpler version with just cake or scone with clotted cream and jam. Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed. Our favourite tea is their afternoon tea blend which is simply lovely. Open 9.00 - 5.00 Monday to Saturday. Full afternoon tea served between 12-4pm. Cakes and teas available all day. The National Trust Property Blickling Hall is just down the road. You will pass it on the way to Aylsham. You can’t really miss it, as it is enormous. They also have excellent tearooms with home made cakes and scones, although if you want the full works I'd go to Biddys.
