Things to do in North Norfolk this week-visit the bluebells at Blickling woods as they are at their best now
Fancy a bluebell walk & maybe afternoon tea afterwards. Sounds tempting then read more. Blickling Hall is about a 30 minute drive from Gardeners Cottage in Blakeney
Best bluebells we've ever seen, and you can take your dog for a walk at the same time
The bluebell walks in Blickling woods are fantastic this year and well worth a visit if you are Norfolk this week. We had a lovely walk through the woods with the dogs and the bluebells are breathtaking. Wonderful to see so much natural beauty. To get to the bluebells you are best to park in one of the car parks in Blickling woods. Dogs should be kept on leads as the National Trust introduced a dogs on lead policy a couple of years ago at Blickling.
Afternoon tea or a light lunch
Afterwards, we recommend you pop into one of the National Trust cafes at Blickling Hall for lunch or a cuppa. They do excellent sandwiches and home made cakes including fruit scones with jam and cream. The muddy boots cafe is dog friendly . The cafe next to Blickling hall is much larger and has a better selection of food. Dogs are not allowed in the cafe but there is lots of outside seating in the courtyard. They also have an excellent coffee machine and do the most enormous cappuccinos.
Pop into the dog friendly Buckinghamshire arm pub
Alternatively you could follow your walk with a drink or lunch at The Buck Arms ( one of our favourites pubs ) just next to the main car park which is also dog friendly in the bar. Alternatively, Biddy's vintage tearoom is just down the road in Aylsham and is well worth a visit. They also have an outside seating area if you have a dog with you.
